Grief follows you around like some half-starved dog. You turn around and it is always there.
~American Rust
A client called last week worried about her dog who wasn’t eating. He was also lethargic and wasn’t doing much of anything but sit in a closet. She had taken him to the vet, but they could find nothing wrong. When that happens is usually when I get a call. I am the one to go to when nothing makes sense. Because the spiritual/emotional world of pets is usually where the problem lies.
When I talked to the dog, he told me he was beyond consolable, depressed, and grieving. He was apathetic and told me nothing held meaning anymore for him. When I told this to my client, she responded, “I was worried that was what is going on! One of my other dogs died two weeks ago, and it was horrible. She had a severe seizure, and died in my arms, right here in the house. Ever since then, this dog hasn’t been herself. She was right there when it happened and saw everything.”
I looked at the situation intuitively and asked my Angels what had happened. They shared with me that the ghost of the deceased dog was still in the house. (When we, and animals die, we have the choice to stay here without our body or to move on to heaven. There are many reasons why the decision to stay on this plane is made. Where the deceased spirit is has ramifications on how they feel and behave, along with how they are perceived and interact with the living). I communicate with both planes- earthbound and heaven and ask questions to qualify where the beings’ spirit is. I didn’t need to do that in this case, because the living dog had told me he was seeing the ghost dog.
Many times, if someone dies in a tragic or accidental way, they stay on this plane. I am always suspicious of someone being earthbound if they died in a sudden way. With this situation, the dog died in pain and confusion, a sign that they didn’t cross to heaven.
When I talked to the earthbound dog, it was scared and confused. I asked my client who in heaven would come and greet the dog (This can be another family dog, a human family member on the other side, maybe someone they don’t even know like your grandmother that was a great with pets.). Once that is decided, I call forth those beings, along with Jesus, St. Anthony, Metatron, or Archangel Michael. If my client is another religion than Christian, I ask what spiritual leaders they would like to work with and incorporate those leaders.
I explain how to send a pet to heaven in my book Animal Lover- one woman’s fantastic journey to uncover the spiritual purpose of pets. Sold on Amazon. Whatever you do, don't let them strand over the bridge. The Rainbow Bridge is a Viking belief that a rainbow bridge takes us up to heaven. If you read the poem, your pet is supposed to go to the entrance of the Rainbow Bridge, and wait for you there until you die, then you both will enter heaven together. This is so ludicrous! It is keeping your poor animal in a purgatory state, waiting for you. The better choice is to make sure they go all the way to heaven- because it allows them to be in the high vibration of heaven, happy as can be, and reincarnate back to you if they are so called! I have several pets who are in their 3rd lifetime with me- If I’d sent them to the rainbow bridge, they would all still be sitting there, waiting for me. All my animals waited far longer for me than was warranted. I don’t want them waiting any more than necessary after they died for heavens sake!
After I sent the deceased dog to heaven, I then cleared the energy on the house and set protection around it. The Fairies helped me out and raised the vibration in the rooms. I answered a few questions that the dog had; “Will I ever see Duke again?” “Yes. He will be with you at the speed of thought and bathed in the vibration of Christ Consciousness.” “Wonderful,” replied the dog. “He was so sad here when he was dead. It was misery and felt like things would never be better ever again. He was in such despair, and I was too!”
I told her that her dog should be feeling better Immediately, and to contact me in a few days. (When a pet/spirit is in heaven, they can be with here on earth with the speed of thought. The difference is that they are immersed in the vibration of heaven, which is like the vibration of Christ consciousness. This means that they are happy. They can’t lie when they are in heaven, the higher vibration doesn’t allow it.)
Two Days later, my client called me to thank me. She said her living dog was immediately happier after the session and started eating again. She also had a dream about the deceased dog being in a meadow with her grandparents. The light was fantastic, it was summer, and he looked young, sassy, happy; the way he was when they first met. She couldn’t thank me enough.
I know this isn’t a normal grief article- but it is an example of a grieving pet & how, as an animal communicator and healer, I was able to help, thus successfully managing the situation and helping to move all through the grief.
